What we do ...

The purpose is to introduce the game of golf and it's life values to Police Athletic League (PAL) kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity, and, to continue nurturing their interest in golf by way of improving individual skills.

A long-term goal is to provide, for those interested, caddie training, placement at golf courses in the area leading to possible college financial assistance through the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust.

During the season representatives of golf related practices such as Manufacturers Representatives, Golf Course Superintendants and Club Managers make informal presentations on other careers in golf.

Brief History...

The program began at Cederbrook Hill Country Club in 2002. In 2003 the relationship with PAL came into being and the five- week program was conducted entirely at Island Green Country Club.

In 2004 the program was lengthened to eight weeks, again entirely at Island Green.

In 2005 the program was expanded to include the Abington Township PAL and is being conducted at Island green, Spring Mill Country Club and Twining Valley Golf Club.
